"And while the grasshopper sang and danced, the industrious little ant gathered up food for the Winter...." |
Welcome Welcome to the Pig Files! Or, as our writers like to say when greeting one another, "Oink!" This site has only one purpose: to share advice that should be common sense -- but isn't for too many of us. People ask, how did it all start? Well, this site takes its inspiration from the stories, parables and even fables of many cultures around the world. The articles are written from the viewpoints of the subjects of these stories. For example, taking from a well-known and well-loved parable from the Christian Bible, we could hear from "The Prodigal Son": "It all started when I was sitting among the pigs which were feeding gluttonously. I had nothing to eat but plenty of time to think. I recorded my life lessons and now make them available freely for other 'prodigal sons' to profit from...." Or, the third little Pig from the popular children's story, "Three Little Pigs and The Big Bad Wolf" could be teaching us some mighty important lessons about making sure we are building character that will last the trials and difficulties of life. Likewise, the ant in "The Ant and The Grasshopper" has lessons to share with our all too often lazy selves about saving for a rainy day -- would more finance ministers and labour unions pay heed to the wise ant's admonition. We hope you will like these stories from around the world. We really liked the idea of the third little Pig telling us those life lessons, and so we decided to call our site, The Pig Files. For those who have some difficulty learning from a pig, then let it be the prodigal son, who spent years living among and feeding pigs, who is recording those life lessons in The Pig Files. For some of us, it's the fog in our minds that prevents us from knowing which is the next steps to follow in our lives. For others, their minds are clear, but it's foggy all around them. Whichever camp you fall into, we hope that the life lessons contained in The Pig Files will help you "come out of the fog." Enjoy! |
